Independent Preschool Program since 1950
Welcome to Lucky Lane Early Childhood, a fun and educational place for your little one to make friends and engage with the world around them. We are fully licensed in the state of Missouri and have been helping young minds flourish since 1950.
As an independent, play-based, non-profit preschool, we are dedicated to providing exceptional early education to a diverse range of students. Our goal is to help children, ages two through PreK, develop confidence and lifelong learning habits. We do this by encouraging healthy young minds and bodies to thrive with a range of stimulating activities and strive to create sense of community as we invite families to join us for our annual celebrations throughout the year.
Families can take an active part in their child's educational experience through various volunteer opportunites such as: being a room parent, signing up as a library reader, visiting as a classroom guest speaker, joining our school board, and more!
Preparing students for a lifetime of learning
Children learn best through their experiences, rather than through rote memorization and activities that have no connection to their lives outside of school. Our students participate in an integrated thematic curriculum that engages them in meaningful activities that include:
-
Dramatic play
-
Science
-
Art
-
Communication arts
-
Manipulatives
-
Sensory tables
Our teachers work hard to foster the self-confidence students need to express themselves creatively. We encourage independent thinking and natural curiosity through highly stimulating activities. Our play-based methods help young minds and bodies grow and thrive.
Creating a nurturing environment
Young minds are full of potential. It is our job as educators to help children understand that they have the power to become whoever they want to be. We bolster crucial communicative skills by encouraging positive interactions between themselves and their peers. Imaginative play and creative exercises help children discover their unique inner voice. By using trial and error to solve problems and influence their environment, children can learn profound lessons. We consider this revelation to be a cornerstone of our educational approach.
Lots of room to play!
Your children will romp on five fully equipped playgrounds containing new, state-of-the art playground equipment and newly added nature playground. In addition, there is plenty of open space to run and play on 4 acres! The school also includes a small playground designed especially for the smallest of Lucky Laners.
Kids love our wheel toy room
Lucky Lane's multi-purpose building houses the wheel toy room. This room gives children the opportunity to master the skills of pedaling and improve their gross motor skills. This is both crucial for healthy physical development, and a whole lot of fun!
Igniting imaginations in the library
Lucky Lane is fortunate to have a library which houses hundreds of books. Students enjoy story time with our wonderful librarian and are able to check out books on a weekly basis. Fostering a love of reading early on will dramatically improve fluency, imagination and the ability to think abstractly.
